We recently caught up with Malelili Bogileka, known as Male to his colleagues, to discuss his journey at TRT.
Male, an apprentice in heavy automotive engineering, has been with TRT for just over three years.
“I’m currently the lead apprentice in the service and repair of trucks and trailers within our service unit,” Male shares. “It’s not just about diagnosing and fixing mechanical issues; the repairs must meet industry standards.
I’m also the go-to person for advice among other apprentices, which is something I never expected.”
Male adds, “One of the things I love about working at TRT is the daily variety and the new challenges it presents, which really push me to think on my feet.
Throughout my apprenticeship, TRT has supported me every step of the way, providing guidance and allowing me the space to learn and grow. Their commitment to my development has been instrumental.”
He adds, "TRT’s history and commitment to taking on challenges that others shy away from really align with my own values and goals.”
As Male nears the completion of his apprenticeship, expected in the next weeks, his core responsibilities include diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and being on the on-call roster for breakdowns.
In addition to industry training, he is also engaged in specialised dealer training.
Male’s advice for newcomers at TRT? “It's simple really - keep an open mind and having resilience will set you up for success at TRT."
